FBI Releases Report On Most Stolen Cars Of 2013

According to the FBI car thefts continue to decrease across the country. Car thefts overall are down by 50% since 1991! That is pretty amazing. You can thank technology for being a major contributor to that. The vehicles most often stolen are not the fancy new BMW's or Audi's. Newer cars have computer chipped keys and anti-theft systems that require a signficant amount of time and sophistication to bypass - if it can be done at all.

The cars most often stolen are the older model Honda Accords, Honda Civics, and the like. Those cars are easy to hot-wire by common car thieves.

Here are the 10 most stolen cars during 2013 covering all model years:

1. Honda Accord

2. Honda Civic

3. Chevrolet Silverado

4. Ford F-150

5. Toyoya Camry

6. Dodge/Ram Pickup

7. Dodge Caravan

8. Jeep Cherokee / Grand Cherokee

9. Toyota Corolla

10. Nissan Altima
