Pickup trucks have known to be work trucks that many people also drive around on a daily basis as their regular method of transportation. With car manufacturers making more comfortable and fuel efficient trucks, people have started using pickup trucks for work as well as a night out in town. With upgraded interiors and gas mileage as good as sedans, pickup trucks have become a practical choice for a vehicle that will be used daily. There are quite a few fuel efficient pickup trucks available today from different manufacturers, some better than others. We’ve chosen a few pickup trucks to review today, all of which are great options to purchase. The Chevrolet Colorado is a perfect example of a truck that is great for work and everyday driving. Starting at a modest $20,000, this pickup truck has a towing capacity of 3,500 to 7,000 lbs and still gets up to 31 mpg on the highway. Producing around 180 horsepower, this pickup truck is great for those that have a light workload and don’t need too much power under the hood. The Colorado is currently the most fuel efficient pickup truck available in the US. Next up is the Dodge Ram 1500, which gets up to 29 mpg on the highway. Starting at $26,000 the Ram 1500 pushes 240 horsepower. The higher horsepower in this pickup truck allows it to have a towing capacity of roughly 4,300 to 8,700 lbs. This pickup truck is great for a light to medium work load as well as a night out since it has back seats which can fit all of your friends after work. Finally there is the Ford F-150, which starts off at around $26,000. The F-150 Ecoboost is equipped with 2.7L V6 engine that produces around 330 horsepower. Ford attached a turbocharged to the F-150 and a twin turbo system to the 3.5L version of the truck. This allows the pickup truck to get up to 26 mpg while have a towing capacity of up to 10,000 lbs! This is a much needed improvement from the previous models such as the 2002 F-150 which used to get 21 mpg while being able to tow only 8,000 lbs.
