Audi Takes on Electric

Electric vehicles are growing in popularity, a trend that has caught the attention of numerous automakers including Audi. This year, the car company is introducing the e-tron, which is Audi’s first fully electric vehicle. It’s also a peek at the car company’s future plans.

The 2019 Audi e-tron is an SUV that fits between the Q5 and the Q7. It is a sleek two-row crossover with enough space for five passengers. Audi’s new electric SUV competes with the likes of the Jaguar I-Pace and the Tesla Model X. The e-tron comes with a powerful, ingenious powertrain along with all-wheel drive. One of the best things about Audi’s e-tron is that it handles and looks like the kind of luxurious SUV that consumers expect from the car company. Starting at around $75,000, the vehicle model is pricey but considering that it’s completely electric, doable.

According to the official EPA rating, the e-tron’s driving range is 204 miles. Audi reports that the vehicle holds a 12 percent battery reserve, a feature that’s designed to extend the battery’s life. Driving the e-tron is exciting and comfortable. The vehicle has two electric motors, one powers the front wheels while the other handles the rear ones. With this combo, the vehicle can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in only 5.5 seconds. When test driving the vehicle, consumers will appreciate the SUV’s responsiveness and solid feel.

Audi treated the vehicle the same way that it does its other luxury automobiles by including different drive modes like Off-Road and Sport. When a driver activates these modes, it can make a difference in how the vehicle handles, allowing the driver to customize the vehicle based on his or her driving preferences.

When it’s time to bring the SUV to a stop, the e-tron’s regenerative brakes work to recharge the batteries. Audi developed the vehicle with its “quattro” all-wheel-drive system, and since it comes with a self-raising air suspension and off-drive mode, the SUV is one that consumers can take off-road with ease.

Inside the SUV, buyers will appreciate technical advancements like smartphone integration and two digital panels. The top screen displays the vehicle’s navigation and audio systems while the bottom one manages the climate. With 57 cubic feet of space, the e-tron has plenty of room for groceries or luggage.

Along with never needing to stop for gas, the 2019 e-tron pampers occupants with massaging front seats that are climate controlled. The vehicle also has an amazing Bang & Olufsen audio system and doors that come with a soft-close feature.

The 2019 Audi e-tron is a vehicle for consumers who want to do their part to save the environment and have something nice to drive while doing it.
