Porsche Redesigns the Boxster

Porsche has always done a great job at blending both sport and luxury into their vehicles. Their high-end models such as the Cayman and 911 continue to beat super cars on the track while offering an elegant interior which faster cars often lack. Their lowest level sports car which is the Boxster recently received a much needed upgrade both to the looks and engine. The new Porsche Boxster received a complete makeover and now with the cuts in the grill and curves around the corners this entry level sports car from Porsche looks much more aggressive than the previous models. Besides having a more aggressive look, Porsche also equipped the car with an upgraded engine which now produces up to 375 horsepower. This allows the luxury sports car to run 0-60 in 4.5 seconds on the SDK version. Those that purchase the S model will be able to dash 0-60 in an impressive 4 seconds flat! This is an incredible improvement compared to their older models which took roughly 5.5 to do the same. With the new engine, the Porsche Boxster is able to keep up with the older Porsche 911 which had a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds. This is possible because Porsche removed the old V6 which powered the vehicle and replaced it with a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This is something that many car makers have started doing in order to get good gas mileage without compromising performance. Speed and exterior is not the only things which received an upgrade in the new Porsche. The interior in the new Porsche Boxster still have the usual leather seats and steering wheel, but now Porsche has also added a chrome finish to the center console and doors which makes it look much more contemporary. The old Porsche interior was very basic which made the car look quite bland when you sat inside. With the new looks and speed, this entry level Porsche fits in perfectly with the high end model which Porsche has to offer. Starting at $52,000 the Boxster is a great buy for those that want to own a entry level Porsche sports car. It can keep up with the fastest of sports cars on the road, while offering a comfortable ride. The new Boxster has once again proven that Porsche is able to make the perfect blend of sport and luxury.
