The 2019 Volvo V60: A Station Wagon with Style

When it comes to the station wagon market in the United States, Volvo is pretty much the only player. While station wagons aren’t usually the most noticeable vehicle on the road, they are practical, and Volvo knows that the car model has its fans. These are the folks that the carmaker had its eye on when it designed the 2019 Volvo V60. In developing the new model, the automaker improved the V60’s exterior styling, interior space and overall performance along with its fuel efficiency and safety technology.

Volvo is releasing the 2019 V60 in two trims, which are the Momentum and the Inscription. For the 2019 V60, Volvo gave the vehicle model a brand-new chassis and body, one that features more room inside the cabin. In fact, the carmaker was able to increase cargo space by 20 percent, so Volvo owners will have access to 23 cubic feet behind the vehicle’s second row. Other quality features include supportive rear seats, rear-seat climate control, and seat backs that power fold.

In addition to its fresh new style, the V60 also comes with top-notch driving dynamics. To make this happen, the car company equipped the luxury station wagon with a double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension. Together, these two technology pieces give drivers added confidence behind the wheel because the car just feels secure on the road.

Two engines are available with the V60. Those who buy the front-wheel-drive version will receive a turbocharged engine that produces 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine gets 24 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway. It also goes from zero to 60 miles per house in 6.4 seconds. Car buyers who bring home the all-wheel-drive V60 will have an engine that is supercharged and turbocharged. This one generates 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. For fuel efficiency, this more powerful engine gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. It reaches a speed of 60 miles per hour in just 5.5 seconds. Later in the year, Volvo intends to bring out a plug-in hybrid version of the station wagon. According to estimates, the hybrid engine will produce 400 horsepower.

The 2019 Volvo V60 is equipped with countless safety features ranging from automatic emergency braking to a head-on collision avoidance system. Buyers also have the option of purchasing the wagon with comfortable interior amenities like ventilated and massaging contour seats, an advanced audio system and a large infotainment system.

Volvo is renowned for its high-end designs, elegant vehicle interiors, and overall quality. Car buyers who choose the V60 will have one of the best station wagons available today, a vehicle that comes with plenty of interior space and lots of creature comforts.
