The Redesigned 2020 Kia Soul

10 years ago, prior to the invention of the subcompact crossover, a few unique imports challenged traditional vehicle classifications. Included in this list of vehicles were the Honda Element, Nissan Cube, and the Kia Soul. Were these vehicles wagons, hatchbacks or SUVs? While that question is still tough to answer since they’re really a blend of all three, it’s safe to say that the Kia Soul continues to be a popular vehicle, one that combines utility with style personality.

For 2020, Kia redesigned the Soul. Those who live in congested urban areas are sure to appreciate its small size, zippy engine, and soft ride. Once drivers take it on the highway, they’ll enjoy the vehicle’s tight handling and responsive steering. Those who decide to purchase a Soul can increase the thrill factor a bit more by getting one equipped with a turbocharged engine and a sport-tuned suspension.

The 2020 Kia Soul is a useful vehicle because it comes with a spacious cabin and a roomy cargo area, making it ideal for everyday use. It features competitive pricing and is less than many of its competitors without causing buyers to live without a comfortable interior or delightful amenities.

In developing the 2020 Soul, Kia decided to offer the model in six trim levels. The LX is the base model while the Sedition includes advanced safety aids. Those who select the X-Line will have a more rugged-looking vehicle, and the GT-Line delivers a sporty appearance. The EX is the vehicle model’s luxury edition and the GT-Line Turbo offers both a sporty appearance and luxury features. The Turbo also comes with the car company’s more powerful engine.

The standard engine for the Soul is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a six-speed manual one. Buyers can get a CVT automatic transmission as an upgrade. When the Soul is equipped with a turbocharged engine, it generates 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It also comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

As far as the cabin goes, Kia included plenty of soft materials and fine details. Cloth upholstery is the standard material for the seats while faux leather is an available upgrade. The Soul can be equipped with state-of-the-art safety features. These include blind-spot monitoring that has rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision, and adaptive cruise control. Upgrades like a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system are also available.

For those who want a practical vehicle that displays unique styling and plenty of amenities, the 2020 Kia Soul should be a consideration. This vehicle offers plenty of value due to its affordable pricing and general utility.
