The 2019 Buick Envision: An SUV That's Just Right

On the market since 2016, the Buick Envision is sized between the car company’s small SUV, the Encore, and its big one, the Enclave, making the Envision the SUV that’s “just right.” The vehicle model has performed well for Buick. In fact, it’s currently the third-best selling model. For 2019, the car company decided to give it a little refresh.

While the exterior hasn’t changed that much, Buick did update the grille, aligning it with the rest of its ensemble. The new Envision has updated headlights and taillights, giving the SUV a more modern appearance. Buyers can also get the SUV with 19-inch wheels, and the hue Satin Steel has taken the place of Plum Berry.

Under the exterior, Buick made more significant changes. The 2019 Envision comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission, one that General Motors partnered up with Ford to develop. This allowed the car maker to increase the output of the vehicle’s turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, giving it another 35 pound-feet of torque. The output is now at 295. The change in torque has made the SUV a little zippier. The base model of the Envision still comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The Envision has advanced features like the Single-Rate Brake Booster. This provides more stopping power with less force. Also, the SUV has a Tire Fill Alert system that honks the horn once the tire pressure is at the right level.

Inside the Envision, the car company upgraded the HVAC system with an air ionizer, improved the heaters in the seats and included a shut off switch to the vehicle’s auto stop/start system. Drivers are now able to choose adaptive or traditional cruise control, which is helpful when driving through bad weather conditions. The vehicle also comes with a cool wireless-charging compartment in the middle console. It charges all sorts of phones easy peasy.

What’s even better for SUV buyers is that Buick lowered the price tag on the 2019 Envision. Cost always depends on the trim level, but car buyers can save anywhere from $1,400 to $2,400 from the vehicle’s earlier models. The base price is $32,990 while the SUV’s Essence-trims start at $34,495. Those who opt for the Preferred model will be buying a vehicle that starts at $36,795. Other trim levels are the Premium, which begins at $41,695, and the Premium II. The price for the Premium II is $44,595.

With its upscale appearance and convenient driving features, the Buick Envision is an appealing vehicle. Along with providing a comfortable ride, this SUV model is spacious, accessible to those in many income brackets and fun to drive. The 2019 Buick Envision is an easy vehicle to like.
