The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek is versatile and practical. It is a midsize crossover that has enough space for five people. The Crosstrek features great ride quality and all-wheel drive. It’s perfect for the adventurous type and for those who live in regions that experience more than their fair share of adverse weather.
Subaru is manufacturing the Crosstrek in three different trim levels: the 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, and 2.0i Limited. The automaker is equipping the crossover with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This motor produces 152 horsepower. The vehicle comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, and every trim has all-wheel drive.
The base 2.0i trim is well-equipped for the cost. Buyers can get it with a continuously variable transmission, or CVT, for better acceleration. This transmission is standard with the Limited. The Crosstrek’s base model comes with 17-inch wheels, a rearview camera and a 6.5-inch touchscreen dashboard display. Subaru also opted to equip the vehicle with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, along with a four-speaker sound system.
Buyers who purchase the 2.0 Premium Crosstrek will gain upgraded features like automatic headlights, a noise-reducing windshield, and heated seats. This model also comes with safety gear like collision notification and blind spot detection.
The highest trim level available with the Crosstrek is the 2.0i Limited. This model comes with 18-inch wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen and automatic climate control. Subaru is also equipping the trim with a Harman Kardon audio system in addition to keyless entry and ignition.
When tested, the Crosstrek reached a speed of 60 miles per hour in 10.3 seconds. It has solid braking, and it stopped from a speed of 60 miles per hour in 118 feet. The crossover handles well, while its size makes it easy to park. With 8.7 inches of clearance and standard all-wheel drive, the Crosstrek is great for off-roading. It has hill descent control that will give drivers extra confidence when they take it to work on a snowy day.
Subaru is offering buyers the Crosstrek in many different colors. Those who decide to get one can choose the model in Venetian Red Pearl, Sunshine Orange and Dark Gray Metallic. It also comes in Lagoon Blue Pearl, Cool Gray Khaki and Crystal White Pearl.
For fuel economy, the crossover gets 27 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. The price point for the Crosstrek is from just over $22,000 to around $35,000, making it an affordable SUV.
The 2019 Subaru Crosstrek is a comfortably-sized crossover. With all-wheel drive standard and good fuel economy, this is a vehicle that will appeal to all types of car buyers even those who have a few kids.
